Ominous Predictions For The Music Industry

Music Industry Changes Over The Next 10 Years

I never thought the predictions for the music industry would be so scary!   Reading the latest article about things we might see in the next 10 years in the music industry seem rather bleak!  The industry experts seem to believe we might reach a new level of "Selling Out" when labels are dead and brands take over the entertainment industry.  Imagine the next generation of music artists dreaming of being signed to Coca Cola rather than dreaming of being a huge recording artist on Universal Records?  I can see it as a reality in the future as brands may be the only entities with enough resources and capital to get an artists noticed in the next decade.   In a world of dreaming big to be a pop start or recording artists, you could certainly be dreaming of something all together different in the future.  Is this the death of the "Rock Star" and the birth of the "Brand Star"?  Will artists be forced to become like all of the the endorsing athlete's products in order to create music and audio art in the next decade?   Only time will tell if the next big "Sell-Out" is on the horizon or "The Next Big Thing".
