It's Getting Better Every Day . . .

We're Humbled and Extremely Grateful For The Opportunities That Continue To Come Our Way . . .

Progress continues on the album in all three studios. Now my damn graphics card is going out, so it's off for repair tomorrow. Hey, at least I got several good weeks out of the system since the last issue. I should have it back up and working again in a day or two. Then I'm back to work recording. There's an unbelievable amount to do.

All is well though, I need a day or two to start accumulating some new song ideas. Over the weekend I contacted my friend Frankie Sullivan. We have been taking about writing together for a while now, back and forth. He said he's ready and willing and to give him a call to get it going. He actually contacted me recently about it, but for some reason I didn't get the email. Scary thought! Good thing I'm persistent! He was waiting on us, I guess. lol  So now, it looks like Jimmy, Frankie and I will be finally writing some hit songs together here soon.

We like to go into these situations with a bunch of new ideas to throw on the table. I'd never feel comfortable going in cold and just hoping an idea will just emerge. If it does, great! If not, then we're prepared.

I called him this afternoon to get something scheduled, but it looks like we're engaged in a game of phone tag at the moment. -  He's it!

I know we planned on not actively writing anymore new songs for this record, but you have to remain very flexible in these matters. When you have a chance to write with someone like Frankie, Andre, or anyone else that may come up at any moment, like that - You don't say no and you make the time!

It could be your major breakthrough hit, or one of many knocking on your door. You never know.
So what do you do? Fucking answer it! That's what you do!

Plans change.

I also decided to call Andre Pessis tomorrow to schedule some sessions with him to help us finish off work and some loose ends on a handful of other tunes we have to finish. They could really use his input and expertise. . .

There's also some other new developments on the business front that look very promising. Looks like we'll also be scheduling some important meetings with some people in the next week or so, to discuss these things. I won't mention exactly what they are right now, but they are potentially very good. . .

Meanwhile, recording continues on in one studio, or the other . . .

Oh yeah, I almost forgot - The amazing Mike Walter has agreed to contribute Harmony Vocals along with Jimmy and I to the record, as well as Drums & Percussion. He's helped us with arrangement suggestions here and there too. Mike is also an unbelievable songwriter too. He co-wrote "Any Other Way" on the first record Vol. 1       We may record one of his new songs that just knocked us out, called "4th Of July" and may co-write together also at some point. Mike is one of those guys that can do it all. We're very fortunate and happy to have a little help from him on the record. . .

For those of you who don't know:

'Andre Pessis' is a hit songwriter who has written hits for 'Huey Lewis and The News', 'Mr. Big', 'Journey', 'Bonnie Raitt', 'Tim McGraw' and many, many more. He has won the ASCAP songwriter of the year award multiple times, as well as other awards. He's sold millions of records as a writer, in multiple genres. He works with Eric Martin and Jonathan Cain quite frequently. And that only scratches the surface of the artist' he's worked with and achievements he's had.

Andre has been a good  friend and writing partner of mine since 1998.  He has co-written several of the songs with Jimmy and I for the new record. . .

'Frankie Sullivan' is a true blue rockstar. Hit Songwriter who's sold millions of records as well as being  a  multi-million selling artist. He is the founding member and Guitarist of the majorly successful band 'Survivor' and co-wrote every major hit they had such as - "The Search Is Over", "I Can't Hold Back", "High On You", "First Night", "Is This Love", "Burning Heart" and many others. Including one of the biggest hit songs of all time "Eye Of The Tiger". Not only was it a Grammy and Oscar nominated song, but it is # 16 on billboards all time greatest songs list, and one of the most downloaded songs of all time. Frankie has also co-written hit songs for others as well, such as "Rocking Into The Night" and "Caught Up In You" for '38 Special', etc.
He's won multiple awards and written so many big hits. Not to mention he's an extremely fantastic guitarist who in addition to being the guitar you hear on 'Survivor' records, but others as well, including 'Heart's - "Nothin' at All" and "Nobody's Home", from their 'Surprises Of The Heart' album. Another million seller.

Frankie is a real nice guy and new friend. Frankie, Jimmy and I will be co-writing together - Surely we'll have some potential hit songs for our new record and maybe, just maybe we'll get lucky and have a co-write on a 'Survivor' record. Who knows . . . Anything can happen . . .

Things are good . . .

-Bret.
