Life Happens Here, There, Everywhere... Lets Create an Acronym (LHH)

Lets create an acronym for "Life Happens Here" or  (LHH) for short in reference to the Walking Tall upcoming recordings. Well, just when you think you know what's going to happen this second, minute, hour, day, week, month year... Your dead wrong!  Life comes at you fast!  You have new challenges that were not on the agenda and not part of the project scope that you laid out a few months before.   Life is a full contact sport requiring kid gloves at times and then others, a ferocious aptitude for fighting your way through the adversity.  The veracious nature of the blog is sort of in itself a great way to reveal and find a serenity in your daily plight!  It's a brilliant way to let everyone know what your working on and yet not reveal the details (or one hopes we don't reveal too much) to entice the reader to follow us progress and experience the journey along side the band on the way.   As I said in a previous blog, much of what goes into a final product also goes unseen.   The prose of this blog is as honest as we can be while also not giving away so much that everyone who reads loses interest.   The McGuffin of LHH is simply - life happens in all forms and in "All the worlds a stage, and we are merely players, performers and portrayers, Each anothers audience, outside the guilded cage"  - Neil Peart, RUSH

Much of what goes unseen is the real meat and potatoes of our personal journeys in life and also our fight to attain the goals we have designated as our "life's work".   We are experiencing all of the emotions one can feel at this time because life is going on all around us, before us, with us, after us... Time is the enemy.  I sense there are some issues in every camp with personal problems and adversity but we find a way to persevere in the face of mounting odds.   We stay positive, we roll with the punches and we go on, regardless of our state of mind, we must endure and climb life's mountains.  They appear as a hill in the distance.  As we approach them, we find they are tall mountains and though lofty and treacherous, we resolve to climb and find the way to get to the top.  When things look bleak, one underlying principle holds true - "Where there is a will, there is most certainly a way".   The thought of landing a spacecraft on an asteroid was science fiction but it also happened recently.  People say to us all of the time "Why are you still making music when there is no money in it?".  That is not our perception, but I digress...  Why do people climb Mount Everest when they know that the odds of success in reaching the summit are rather low... they do it because there is a need for accomplishment.  A need to prove the mindset of positive thought and perseverance will prevail in all situations.   We are struggling, we breathing, we are fighting and we are also achieving and capturing moments.  A sound recording acts as a reference to a point in time.  To prove my point, go back twenty or thirty years, pick a song from that time and then see what the first thing that pops into your brain when you listen to the music.  My suspicion is that you may find yourself transported to another time and relive an old memory or recall something that the song triggers in the dark chasms of the brain!   I know we have this type of recording on our hands because I wake up singing these songs and they mean something to both of us.

Bret is carrying the torch while I sort our few personal issues but the recording and progress goes on.   There is strength in numbers and there is opportunity to see the big picture. This is an epic point of capture of this time in our lives that we can certainly never reproduce the events that happen that cause us to feel certain emotions, but the recordings should serve as a portal for time travel when we listen back to the accomplishment and the songs that are the direct results of life taking turns and twists.  LHH is the culmination of our lives, our dreams, our emotional awareness and our hopes for a better tomorrow.   We are reaching new heights and making music that has depth, emotional content, a message of hope and a real ability to make a person want to sing along with the band.   Thank You Bret for fighting on while I work out some logistics and a myriad of other sorted issues.   I am out of the loop for the next few weeks but as I head to Las Vegas at the end of the month, I am certain that the Rush concert at the MGM and the time with my brothers will re-ignite the already burning fire in my soul as we try to achieve new ground and make a  record/records worth buying.  There is no "more noble a cause" in the music business.  See you soon ProTools and my access to the studio..For now I need to just breath. I will back in action in no time flat!
